Welcome to our table!

Hello, my name is Lisa Gwatney and I am a proud Southerner, mom of four wonderful children (now grown) and proudly self-taught home cook. What began for me as a hobby took an exciting turn in 2018 when I took home top prize at the world’s largest food competition, the 6th Annual World Food Championships. My prize-clinching dish? A Wagyu ribeye seared in butter and finished with an Amarone reduction sauce, topped with truffle butter, sautéed mushrooms and seared Foie Gras, served with carrots and Potatoes Dauphinoise. Cooking has been a family affair in my home. My husband Russell is also a celebrated cook, winning the World BBQ Championship and the Tennessee State Championship for his oh-so-amazing BBQ ribs. Together we can claim three World Championships, and we used our combined experience and expertise to craft a special collection of spices, marinades and sauces that allows virtually anyone to take their cooking to a world-class level. We’re also creating short but informative how-to videos that show simple, easy-to-follow techniques that lead to delicious results. My goal is to make cooking easy and approachable for anyone. When I first entered the largest food competition on the planet, I felt so nervous and intimidated that I almost backed out. That would have been a huge mistake since I went on to more than hold my own against hundreds of professional chefs, home cooks, food bloggers and restaurant owners. I hope I can inspire anyone that wishes to learn to cook – or maybe even to compete – to be able accomplish their goals.
